firms hare done.

But before I take any steps I will come to an arrangement with Shanghai.

I also enclose copies of the letter of the C.U. of 28/6 and 4/7 and of our letter of 30/6. I hope that Davis in Shanghai will agree with our proposal that during the war he carries on the business in the city under his own name in order to prevent one of the rival English firms obtaining the agenoy.
